Connecting Your Heat Pump to Homey, Home Assistant, or Other Smart Home Platforms

Options for integrating Qvantum heat pumps with popular home automation systems

Smart home integration

Qvantum heat pumps can be integrated with popular home automation platforms using Modbus TCP/IP. Here's a guide for common systems.

General approach

All smart home integrations work via Modbus TCP/IP over your local network. Your smart home hub or controller reads and writes to Modbus registers on the heat pump. See the article Modbus TCP/IP Integration for setup basics and how to request the register map.

Home Assistant

Home Assistant supports Modbus TCP/IP natively via the Modbus integration. Once you have the register map from Qvantum, you can configure sensors and controls directly in your configuration.yaml. Community members have shared configuration examples on the Home Assistant forums.

Homey

Homey Pro supports Modbus TCP/IP via third-party apps available in the Homey App Store. Once the Modbus connection is established, you can create flows to increase hot water production when your solar panels are generating surplus energy.

KNX / Loxone / SCADA systems

These platforms all support Modbus TCP/IP as a standard protocol. Your integrator or building automation specialist can configure the connection using the Qvantum register map.

Getting the register map

Email: support@qvantum.com with your model and serial number to request the Modbus register map.

Feature request: native integrations
