Modbus TCP/IP Integration with Qvantum Heat Pumps
How to use Modbus to integrate your heat pump with a HEMS, BMS, or smart home system
Modbus TCP/IP integration
Qvantum heat pumps support Modbus TCP/IP communication, allowing integration with home energy management systems (HEMS), building management systems (BMS), and advanced smart home setups.
What Modbus enables
- Read live operational data (temperatures, power consumption, status)
- Send control signals (setpoint changes, mode switching, on/off)
- Integrate with solar inverters or battery systems for self-consumption optimisation
- Connect to third-party platforms (Home Assistant, KNX, Loxone, etc.)
Getting started
To use Modbus integration:
- Ensure your heat pump is connected to your local network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
- Note the IP address of the heat pump (visible in the app under Settings → Network or in your router's device list).
- Modbus TCP/IP uses port 502 by default.
- Request the Modbus register map from Qvantum support — this document lists all available registers, their addresses, data types, and read/write permissions.
Requesting the Modbus register map
The register map is available for certified installers and technical users. Contact support with your model and serial number to request it.

Cloud API
Qvantum is also developing a Cloud API for remote integration. This will allow external systems to read and control the heat pump over the internet without requiring local network access. Contact support for the current status of the API programme.
