How Firmware and Software Updates Work
Understanding how your Qvantum heat pump receives and applies updates
Firmware and software updates on Qvantum heat pumps
Your Qvantum heat pump regularly receives firmware and software updates over the air. Here's how the process works and what to expect.
How updates are delivered
Updates are delivered automatically via the internet connection of your heat pump (SIM or Wi-Fi). When a new firmware version is available, Qvantum pushes it to compatible units.
You don't need to manually trigger updates — they happen in the background, typically during low-activity periods.
What gets updated
- Control board firmware — Core logic for heating, cooling, and hot water management
- Display software — The interface on the indoor unit's screen
- Connectivity module — Communication and cloud connectivity
During an update
The heat pump may briefly pause operation during an update. This is normal and usually takes only a few minutes. You may see a status message on the display or in the app.
Update failed or display software issue
In rare cases, a display software update may fail if the unit loses connectivity during the process. Symptoms include:
- Display showing an error or frozen screen
- The unit not responding to app commands
- The update not completing after more than 30 minutes
If this happens, try restarting the unit. If the issue persists, contact support — we can attempt a remote recovery or arrange a service visit.
