Heat Pump Installation: What to Expect

A step-by-step overview of what happens during a Qvantum heat pump installation

What happens during a Qvantum heat pump installation?

If you've decided to install a Qvantum heat pump, here's a clear overview of what to expect from start to finish.

1. Site survey and system selection

An installer visits your home to assess the existing heating system, building size, insulation, and hot water demand. Based on this, they recommend the right Qvantum model and any accessories (e.g. QS supply air module, buffer tank).

2. Preparation

Before installation day, ensure:

  • The planned location for the outdoor unit is accessible and clear
  • The plant room or utility area for the indoor unit is accessible
  • An electrician has confirmed the electrical supply is suitable (typically 3-phase or single-phase depending on model)

3. Installation day

A typical installation takes 1–2 days. The installer will:

  • Mount and connect the outdoor unit
  • Install the indoor unit (QH) and connect it to your heating distribution
  • Fill and pressurise the refrigerant circuit
  • Connect the electrical supply
  • Set up the Wi-Fi or SIM connection

4. Commissioning

After installation, the installer submits a commissioning request to Qvantum. A remote or on-site commissioning session verifies the installation and officially starts the warranty period.

5. Handover

The installer shows you how to use the app, explains the basic settings, and provides documentation. Download the Qvantum app and register your unit using the serial number.
