Filter Maintenance: When and How to Replace Filters
Keep your Qvantum heat pump running efficiently with regular filter maintenance
Why filter maintenance matters
Clean filters are essential for your heat pump to operate efficiently and avoid faults like High Pressure alarms. Blocked filters restrict airflow, which forces the system to work harder and can cause premature wear.
Recommended replacement schedule
- QE and QS models: Replace or clean filters every 12 months
- In dusty environments or homes with pets, consider checking every 6 months
How to replace the filter
- Switch the heat pump to standby mode from the app or display.
- Locate the filter access panel on the indoor unit.
- Remove the old filter carefully to avoid releasing trapped dust.
- Insert the new filter, ensuring correct orientation (arrow indicates airflow direction).
- Close the panel and restart the heat pump.

Can I clean the filter instead of replacing it?
Some filter types can be vacuumed gently. However, replacement is recommended annually regardless, as fibres degrade over time even if the filter appears clean.
